CognosScript macro does not connect to database when opening Impromptu Catalog

Troubleshooting


Problem

Macro code used to open an Impromptu Catalog with the OpenCatalog method fails to connect to the database.

Symptom

Reports run in the macro are exported without data because the database was not connected when run.

The Creator User Profile does not have a password on the Catalog. The database user and password is embedded in the Catalog. Impromptu is configured to automatically connect to the database when a Catalog is opened. Manually opening the Catalog connects to the database. The same macro code used against a sample Catalog connects successfully
