Abstract

Customers are able to upgrade by:
1. Re-implement using a more recent version of the applications. Refer to ‘Software Environments’ for detailed conformance statements for each release, if you are planning to do this work.
2. Upgrade Cognos software conformance to 8.3.
'Active' support environments for Cognos Performance Applications Environments are listed below.
 

Content

Cognos 8.3 Data Manager and Cognos 8 BI 8.3 are a 'Compatible' support environment for all Application versions listed below provided the following upgrade steps are followed, where applicable.

  • Customers using Performance Application versions 1.3, 1.4 or 1.5 which use DecisionStream 6.5 will be able to upgrade that code to DecisionStream v. 7.1 using the Data Warehouse Upgrade Utilities (which delivers a version 1.6 application framework), and then continue with the upgrade to Cognos 8.3 Data Manager.
  • Customers that are using reports from versions prior to 2.0 can use reports that were released with application versions 2.0 and higher. These reports can be more easily migrated to Cognos 8 BI 8.3.
  • An Application Console that supports Cognos Data Manager 8.3 is available for download.
