Cognos BI 10.2.2 fails to start with error CAM-CRP-0026 The underlying socket returned an error



Cognos BI 10.2.2 configured with both a Cognos Service and a Servlet Gateway fails to start. No Java process is spawned during startup and the following error message is raised in log file cbs_start_ServletGateway.log : ERROR t[2a0] CBSSocketCommand failed to connect, CAM error: -12CAM-CRP-0026 The underlying socket: 'xx.xx.xx.xx:9300' returned an error.10061Could not connect the socket, errno: 0x274d(10061)

Resolving The Problem

1- Backup the following folders for WebSphere Liberty Profile (WLP) and delete them:


2- In Cognos Configuration, modifed the Ping Timeout for the Cognos
service and Servlet Gateway, from the default value (240) to 480

3. For the Servlet Gateway, ensure that the Maximum memory is set to the default : 512 MB

4. For the Cognos Service, ensure that the Maximum memory for the Dispatcher is set to at least 2048 MB
