CMM message "I/O module iomodule__ is incompatible with the node configuration" presented in the PureApplication System Events.

Troubleshooting

Problem

The Chassis Management Module (CMM) message "I/O module iomodule__ is incompatible with the node configuration" is expected when the CMM loses connection to the Integrated Management Module (IMM) during the time the CMM is checking the IMM for the IMM's configuration. The root cause of the problem is that the IMM restarted during the CMM check

Resolving The Problem

Check the following if you see this message:

Prior to fix pack v1.1.0.1:

    1. If the IMM completes restarting and you do not have PureApplication System fix pack V1.1.0.1 installed, see APAR IC96151 and the V1.1.0.1 release notes.
      • IMPACT: As the IMM restarts, this message is innocuous and has no affect on the product's operation.
      • RESOLUTION: Apply fix pack V1.1.0.1. which will resolve the currently known defects which cause IMM restarts.
      • DETAILS: The CMM checks the IMM at regularly defined intervals. If the IMM unexpectedly restarts during one of these checks, the CMM will report the message "I/O module iomodule01 is incompatible with the node configuration." This message is expected because the CMM cannot query the IMM configuration when the IMM is in the midst of a restart. Therefore, this message is not the problem but a side-effect of the IMM restart. The root cause of that the IMM restarts. Application of fix pack V1.1.0.1 for this APAR IC96151 resolves the currently known defects which cause IMM restarts.
    2. If you see this message, and a message noting the IMM has not restarted, the CMM is not able to query the IMM's configuration and this would be a new problem:

After fix pack v1.1.0.1 or after a newer fix pack is installed:
