Symptom
If a software Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) daughter card is installed, the Chassis Management Module (CMM) Command Line Interface (CLI) displays "Media Access Control (MAC) Address 1: Not Available" when issuing the following command:

Affected configurations
The system may be any of the following IBM servers:
- Flex System x220 Compute Node, type 2585, any model
- Flex System x220 Compute Node, type 7906, any model
The system is configured with one or more of the following IBM Option part numbers:
- Flex System Chassis Management Module, Option part number 68Y7029, any replacement part number
This tip is not software specific.
The following system firmware level(s) are affected:
- IMMv2 1AOO28S (and previous)
- CMM 2PET10B (and previous)
Solution
This behavior will be corrected in a future release of Integrated Management Module 2 (IMM2) and CMM firmware.
The target date for this release is scheduled for third quarter 2012.
The file is or will be available by selecting the appropriate Product Group, type of System, Product name, Product machine type, and operating system on IBM Support's Fix Central web page, at the following URL:
Workaround
Obtain the Host Ethernet MAC Address information from the Integrated Management Module (IMM) web:
- Log in to the IMM web.
- Select "Server Management".
- Select "Server Properties"'.
- Select "Network Hardware" in the "Hardware Information"
tab.
- Retrieve Host Ethernet MAC Address.
