CMM CLI cannot display MAC Address when issuing the "info -T" command - IBM Flex

Symptom

If a software Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) daughter card is installed, the Chassis Management Module (CMM) Command Line Interface (CLI) displays "Media Access Control (MAC) Address 1: Not Available" when issuing the following command:

Affected configurations

The system may be any of the following IBM servers:

• Flex System x220 Compute Node, type 2585, any model
• Flex System x220 Compute Node, type 7906, any model

The system is configured with one or more of the following IBM Option part numbers:

• Flex System Chassis Management Module, Option part number 68Y7029, any replacement part number

This tip is not software specific.

The following system firmware level(s) are affected:

• IMMv2 1AOO28S (and previous)
• CMM 2PET10B (and previous)
  

Solution

This behavior will be corrected in a future release of Integrated Management Module 2 (IMM2) and CMM firmware.

The target date for this release is scheduled for third quarter 2012.

Workaround

Obtain the Host Ethernet MAC Address information from the Integrated Management Module (IMM) web:

1. Log in to the IMM web.
   
2. Select "Server Management".
   
3. Select "Server Properties"'.
   
4. Select "Network Hardware" in the "Hardware Information" tab.
   
5. Retrieve Host Ethernet MAC Address.
