cloudctl install_catalog fails with Clientversion error

Troubleshooting


Problem

The install-catalog operation fails with a cloudctl Clientversion error message:
Checking for required prereqs...
Processing /case/prereqs/k8sDistros/kubernetes...

Processing /case/prereqs/k8sDistros/openshift...
[FINE]: Using CLI: oc in trying to query the api-resources on the server

Processing /case/prereqs/client/cloudctl...
[FINE]: Failed to validate prereq item /case/prereqs/client/cloudctl due to the following reason: the version of the command Clientversion: v3.5.0-1942+6bb131cf4a09f92047c5fb9002d00dd18cc5e5ed is not compatible with the semantic version Client Version: v3.[4-9].* specified in the prereqs.yaml

Symptom

The error occurs regardless of the version of cloudctl in use.
Changing the regular expression in prereqs.yaml makes no difference.
