This document explains how to close relay for mail on the IBM System i products.
Resolving The Problem
Problem: A Web site monitoring site (ORDB.ORG) reported open relay on the mail server. How can I close relay with native SMTP?
Resolution: On Version 5 the properties for SMTP can be modified through the Operations Navigator support on a PC. Or, use the
ADDSMTPLE command to add ACCEPT list and the CHGSMTPA to change the allow mail relay parameter (ALWRLY) to *LIST. After modifying the options, stop and restart SMTP.
