Question

When attempting certain operations with the DB2® Content Manager Client for Windows®, the following error occurs:

[IBM][CLI Driver] CLI0150E Driver not capable. SQLSTATE=HYC00.

Answer

If you can log on to the DB2 Content Manager Client for Windows and successfully import, search, or retrieve items, and you can also log on to the DB2 Content Manager system administration client and create item types, but you cannot create a worknode, the issue may be that the DB2 SPAS address space is not started.

Another possibility is that the DB2 ZPARM DESCSTAT is not set to YES. Because DB2 Content Manager clients use the DB2 CLI interface, DESCSTAT must be set to YES. Refer to the DB2 technote discussing DESCSTAT.

If you encounter a CLI0150E error with other symptoms, enable DB2 CLI tracing on the client machine and analyze the trace to identify the associated SQLCODE and reason code, which will help pinpoint the problem source.
