ClearCase Remote Client for Eclipse fails to connect to IBM ClearCase 7.1 running on Linux

Problem

This technote addresses the symptom of failing to connect to IBM Rational ClearCase 7.1 running on Linux from IBM Rational Software Delivery Platform using the ClearCase Remote Client (CCRC) for Eclipse with an error "Login to ClearCase: Incorrect user name or password".

Symptom

In Rational Software Delivery Platform products, users have provided correct User name and Password to connect to Rational ClearCase 7.1 Web Server running on Linux; however an error dialogue is displayed.

Login to ClearCase: Incorrect user name or password (see Figure 1)

Reproduction Steps
  1. Connect to ClearCase From Rational Software Delivery Platform.



  2. Provide correct ClearCase Web Server URL, User name and Password.



  3. Progress status is displayed.



  4. Connection fails with the error dialogue.
