Problem

This technote identifies an issue that can occur in IBM Rational ClearCase (CC) where running view related commands such as mkview or endview repeatedly such as in the case of running scripted tasks can cause panic on HP-UX 11.31 (IA)

Symptom

Repeatedly running view related commands like mkview or endview such as with scripted tasks can cause panic on HP-UX 11.31 (IA)

Cause


The problem is due to a change in a system function in 11.31.

This issue has been identified as a product defect under APAR PK72474.
