Chrome update version 71 causes memory overflow in Daeja ViewONE Virtual

Abstract

The viewer will load as expected but carrying out subsequent action within the viewer leads to the browser running out of memory and locking up completely. Any containing application is also affected and the browser must be restarted once the issue occurs.

The issue is not present in versions prior to 5.0.3 iFix5

The Daeja ViewONE engineering team has now provided a permanent solution that allows ViewONE Virtual to function when running under Chrome 71+

The fix is available in the following branches of ViewONE Virtual releases:

IBM Daeja ViewONE Virtual 5.0.3 iFix12
IBM Daeja ViewONE Virtual  5.0.4 iFix11
IBM Daeja ViewONE Virtual 5.0.5 iFix 1

So apply the appropriate fix pack for the current version you are using and if you are an IBM Content Navigator user, here are the steps for upgrading just the viewer component in ICN:
