IBM Support

Checking catalog size

Question & Answer

Question

How do you check the system catalog size?

Answer

For systems running NPS 4.6 and later, use following script to check the catalog size:

    /nz/support/contrib/<NPS version>/bin/nz_catalog_size

For systems running NPS 4.5.2 or earlier, use the following linux command to check the catalog size:
    du –hsc /nz/data.1.0/

Note: Because the du command provides the aggregate of the files in the /nz/data.1.0 directory, you should check for the existence of core files in the folder and subtract the size of those files. You can use following command to find the core files:
    ls –lrt `find /nz –name core*`

For information about managing the system catalog size, refer to the document referenced below.
