Character encoding differences between Windows and Linux on RFT

Troubleshooting

Problem

This technote provides information regarding character encoding differences between Microsoft® Windows® and Linux® on IBM® Rational® Functional Tester (RFT).

Symptom

Opening a source file, such as a Rational Functional Tester script in Linux, that had been created on Windows, might cause some character encoding discrepancies. For example, Ascent characters might appear to be different characters on Linux from what was used on Windows.
