Problem
This note addresses how to change the owner of multiple library type, rather than Integrated File System type, objects at the same time.
Resolving The Problem
To change the owner of multiple objects at one time, use the WRKOBJOWN command and specify the profile name.
This brings up a list of all objects owned by that user profile. Type 9 next to each of the objects to change the ownership on. At the command line, type:
This changes the ownership of all selected objects to the new owner.
NOTE: New in V7R2 OS, the WRKOBJOWN command now contains an object type, OBJTYPE, parameter.
For instance, if user wants to change ownership all all files in a specific library that were previously owned by QDFTOWN user profile, they can issue command:
Then page down to the files in that library, type 9 next to each of the files in to change the ownership on. At the command line type:
WRKOBJOWN userprofile

NEWOWN(newowner)
This changes the ownership of all selected objects to the new owner.
