Changing the IP address in the TMR database

Question & Answer

Question

How to change the IP address in the TMR database after host IP addresses have already been changed. IP addresses of TMR server and all managed nodes have been changed. How is it possible to bring up Tivoli oserv using the new addresses?

Answer

Perform the following steps:

1. Source environment on the TMR server:

. /etc/Tivoli/setup_env.sh

2. Bring up the TMR server oserv by name:

oserv -k $DBDIR -N by_name

Verify oserv is running by "ps -ef | oserv" then by "odadmin odlist".

3. Notify tmr server of mn ip change:

odadmin odlist change_ip (disp#) (new-ip)

4. Start the oserv by name from the ManagedNode itself:

oserv -k $DBDIR -N by_name (For Windows: net start oserv /-Nby_name)

Verify oserv is running by "ps -ef" and by "odadmin odlist" from the TMR server.

5. Backup the Tivoli database with "wbkupdb".

6. Repeat steps three through five for each managed node that has ip address changed.
