Question
Is there a way to change the INSERT / New record icon in Maximo to add the "#" for auto-numbered records?
Cause
Users may want to see the # in the icon to indicate that the records that are created are auto-numbered. In many applications the icon does not include it.
Answer
1. Go to the Application Designer.
2. Bring up the JOBPLAN application (or whatever application you want to make the change for).
3. From the Select Action menu choose "Add/Modify Toolbar Menu".
4. Search for the INSERT key value and expand the line.
5. In the Image field copy and save the current value (nav_icon_insert.gif) in case you want to change this back to the default in the future.
6. Replace the value with:
nav_icon_insertkey.gif
7. Click on OK and save the record.
8. Log out and log back in.
9. Go to the application and the new icon should now be displayed.
