Changing DDM Jobs from Using the QUSER User Profile

Troubleshooting

Problem

This document provides information about how to use another user profile for DDM jobs rather than using the QUSER profile.

Resolving The Problem

Determine if the target system device is defined as APPN capable *YES. The DSPDEVD command can be used to verify this parameter. If the devices are defined as APPN capable *YES, the target system must be modified in the following manner:

1Sign on with a user profile that has *IOSYSCFG authority.
2On the operating system command line, type the following:

WRKCFGL

Press the Enter key.
3Select Option 2 next to QAPPNRMT.
4Change the existing Remote Configuration List Entry by specifying Secure Location *YES. If a Remote Configuration List entry does not exist for the Remote Location in question, add the appropriate entry and specify Secure Location *YES.
5Vary the device off and on again.
If the devices are defined as APPN capable *NO, the target system must be modified in the following manner:
1Sign on with a user profile that has *IOSYSCFG authority.
2Vary the device off.
3On the operating system command line, type the following:

CHGDEVAPPC DEVD(device) SECURELOC(*YES)

Press the Enter key.
4Vary the device on.
Note: When using Secure Location *YES and DDM, the same user ID must exist on the target end. If not, a security error will occur.
