Problem

This document explains how to change the LDAP (IBM Tivoli Directory Server) default of AutoStart.

Resolving The Problem

This document explains how to change the LDAP (IBM Tivoli Directory Server) default of AutoStart.

By default, the LDAP(IBM Tivoli Directory Server) is set to AutoStart when TCP/IP is started. This can be changed by opening the Properties for the IBM Tivoli Directory Server from IBM Navigator for i. If IBM Navigator for i is not immediately available, LDAP AutoStart can also be changed from a 5250 session.

Note: Starting with the V6R1 release, LDAP(IBM Tivoli Directory Server) supported multiple instances of LDAP servers. The conversion to multiple servers changed where the Auto Start is controlled.

To change the Auto Start attribute for an LDAP server instance (QUSRDIR is the default instance) from a 5250 command line, you should do the following:
1. On the 5250 command line, issue the following command:

WRKLNK '/QIBM/UserData/OS400/DirSrv/idsinstinfo/idsinstances.ldif'
2. Use Option 2 to edit the file and change value(s) for the ids-instanceAutostart as desired. Next, press F3 two times to save and exit.
