Certificate errors when running the RIT ISO 20022 XSD file downloader

Troubleshooting

Problem

Attempts to download the ISO 20022 schemas using the IBM Rational Integration Tester (RIT) tool fail with certificate errors

Symptom

Multiple errors are generated when running the ISO20022XSDDownloader program when Internet access is through an HTTP proxy.
Each schema file fails to download.
Here is an example error message seen when sending requests through the RIT HTTP Proxy:

org.htmlparser.util.ParserException: com.ibm.jsse2.util.j: PKIX path building fa
iled: java.security.cert.CertPathBuilderException: PKIXCertPathBuilderImpl could
not build a valid CertPath.; internal cause is:
java.security.cert.CertPathValidatorException: The certificate issued by
CN=HTTPS Proxy, OU=Green Hat, O=IBM, ST=London, C=UK is not trusted; internal cause is:
java.security.cert.CertPathValidatorException: Certificate chaining error;

The proxy uses an HTTPS certificate that is not trusted by the default providers installed in Java.
