CDC for Db2 i: how to trim trailing space for a target column when the datatype of the source column is DBCS-OPEN

How To

Summary

With the parameters "trim_char_to_varchar" and "trim_varchar_to_varchar" being enabled, CDC can trim character string from source char and varchar types to target varchar type. Because CDC considers "DBCS-OPEN" as MBCS type, which is a special type of char and varchar, it does not fall into the source char and varchar type column category. Therefore, these parameters do not apply to "DBCS-OPEN (MBCS)" type. Using %REPLACE expression, you can trim trailing space for a target column.
