Problem
This technote explains why the ccvsisearchtoolwin.dll library file is missing while attempting to setup the IBM® Rational® ClearCase® integration with Microsoft® Visual Studio 2008.
Symptom
- The README supplied with the Visual Studio 2008 integration procedure for ClearCase 7.0.1 provides the following instructions:
4. Search for a file named ccvsisearchtoolwin.DLL on the ClearCase host to obtain the path where this file resides.
Note: The default location is C:\Program Files\Common Files\Rational\ClearCase\CCVSI\bin
Attempts to locate this file on the host fails as ccvsisearchtoolwin.dll cannot be found.
- Another symptom may be seen when executing reg_vs2008.bat where the following error message is displayed:
The module "ccvsiinterfaces.dll" was loaded but the call to DllRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80070005
