Case Foundation Process Engine stops with Unexpected error '5' while opening process

Troubleshooting


Problem

Case Foundation Proces Engine stops responding and must be restarted after collecting performance statistics using the 911 script.

Symptom

The problem occurs when collecting performance data using a custom user ID. It can happen when running commands manually through the vwtool utility or automatically in the 911 script.

For example, the elog shows the "adminuser" running ipc_tool -i

fnc_is_fn_process:

A couple of minutes after the error 5 is logged, process id 6180 aborts with an irrecoverable error and the server stops responding.
