Carrier Reference Numbers in a Tender
When you accept a tender you can specify a referencenumber. For example you might enter a carrier PRO number for theshipment.
Sterling TMS processesthe carrier reference number as follows:

- If you accept a tender using an EDI 990 transaction you can supplya carrier reference number. This number replaces any carrier referencenumber that the shipper assigned to the shipment.
- If the carrier reference number changes Sterling TMS records anevent on the Notes/History page. Shippers and carriers can see theoriginal and current reference numbers on the History tabof the Notes/History page.
