Question
How to gather debug output of a failing, padmin command. This applies to VIOS 3.1 and 4.1
Answer
- Login to VIOS as padmin
- $ oem_setup_env (Switches to AIX/root shell)
- # script -a /home/padmin/<Your_Support_Case_ID>.clidebug33.out (Run script command to capture details)
- # su - padmin (Switches back to padmin shell)
- $ ioslevel (List VIOS version)
- $ uname -LMm (List LPAR name, LPAR ID, Machine Type and Model
- $ export CLI_DEBUG=33 (Enables debug mode)
- Run offending command to reproduce error
- $ export CLI_DEBUG="" (Disable debug mode)
- $ exit (Exit padmin)
- # exit (End script)
