Capturing DB2 SQL1224 error code

Troubleshooting

Problem

How to capture SQL1224 error code in your DB2 environment.

Symptom

On some occasions, DB2 may report SQL1224N when performing an insert, update or a delete on a database table causing the operation to terminate and the transaction to be rolled back. In these cases, DB2 will not write a message in the db2diag.log when this error is generated which makes diagnosing the problem a little bit harder for the DBA. Below is the description for SQLCODE -1224:

SQL1224N  The database manager is not able to accept new requests, has terminated all requests in progress, or has terminated the specified request because of an error or a forced interrupt.  SQLSTATE=55032
