Troubleshooting
Problem
Trying to start IBM® Rational® Application Developer (RAD) either shuts it down silently, or displays an error so that you cannot proceed and have to shut it down. The first solution proposed below can be applied also for a milder problem, e.g. that of getting the error dialog "Could not restore workbench layout".
Symptom
Possible symptoms, error messages:
1) RAD cannot start, or starts and subsequent error dialog advises user that RAD needs to be shutdown.
2) "Could not restore workbench layout"
3) "Problems occurred restoring workbench "
4) "Unable to restore perspective"
