Cannot start the product after installing into an existing eclipse 3.4 using Sun JRE

Troubleshooting


Problem

When starting up the product, you may get a pop-up with the message: "Could not create the Java virtual machine". The problem appears when you install the product onto an existing Eclipse 3.4 that is running on the Sun Java Runtime Environment (JRE), and you have selected the Rational Team Concert Client Feature during the installation.

Symptom

When starting up the product, you get a dialog pop-up with the message: "Could not create the Java virtual machine"
