Problem
This document discusses a common error, FTP530, when trying to log in to the FTP server at V5R3M0 or above.
Resolving The Problem
When trying to log in to your FTP server on your IBM eServer i5 at V5R3M0 or above, one of the following messages may be issued:

o | 530 Log on attempt by user XXXXXXXX rejected. Login failed. |
| o | 530 Not able to set ASP group for user XXXXXXXX. Logon rejected. |
These messages are typically caused by one or both of the following:
| o | The job description specified in user profile XXXXXXXX is not a valid job description (for example, wrong library, spelled incorrectly, and so on). |
| o | User XXXXXXXX does not have authority to one or more of the libraries in the job description's library list. |
