Troubleshooting
Problem
The IBM® Installation Manager (IM) displays the following error message when the .imlock file exists in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\IBM\Installation Manager\.imlock:

The installation manager could not be started because another installation manager instance is already running. Only a single installation manager may be running at any time.
Unable to acquire lock on file 'C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\IBM\Installation Manager\.imlock'.

The error message is self explanatory; however, there are some scenarios in which the .imlock file does exist without a running IM instance.
