Troubleshooting
Problem
Source RETAIN tip: H212317 Symptom Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) server configuration can not be enabled from the Advanced Management Module (AMM) command line if the AMM firmware is either 3.66B (Build ID: BPET66B) or 3.66C (Build ID: BPET66C).
Resolving The Problem
Source
RETAIN tip: H212317
Symptom
Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) server configuration cannot be enabled from the Advanced Management Module (AMM) command line if the AMM firmware is at one of these levels:
- 3.66B (Build ID: BPET66B)
- 3.66C (Build ID: BPET66C)
- 3.66D (Build ID: BPET66D)
The command ports -httpse on -T mm[1] or sslcfg -server enabled -T mm[1] returns the value 'OK' to indicate that the SSL server is enabled. However, the command does not successfully enable the option.
If the SSL server is on or enabled, disabling the SSL server using the command ports -httpse off -T mm[1] or sslcfg -server disabled -T mm[1] succeeds, and disables the option.
If the option is disabled from the command line, it cannot be successfully enabled using the command line.
Affected configurations
The system is configured with one or more of the following IBM options part numbers:
- BladeCenter Advanced Management Module, Option part number 25R5778, any replacement part number
This tip is not system specific.
This tip is not software specific.
The following system firmware levels are affected:
- 3.66B (Build ID: BPET66B)
- 3.66C (Build ID: BPET66C)
- 3.66D (Build ID: BPET66D)
Solution
This behavior was corrected in AMM firmware 3.66E (Build ID: BPET66E) and later levels.

Workaround
Enable the configuration from the AMM Web interface using the
HTTP protocol. This can be enabled by navigating to MM
Control -> Network Protocols -> SSL Server Configuration for
Web Server.
