Cannot create Synergy database with error "Database server 'XXX' is Off-Line"

Troubleshooting


Problem

When creating Rational Synergy database by command %ccmdb unpack, returned error "ERROR: Database server 'XXX' is Off-Line'. Checked database status and got error "shared memory not initialized for INFORMIXSERVER 'ids'".

Symptom

- Run %ccmdb unpack command to create a new Synergy database:
%ccmdb unpack /$CCM_HOME/packfiles/base.cpk -to /CCM_DATABASE_PATH

Got error:
UnPacking Database /CCM_DATABASE_PATH from /$CCM_HOME/packfiles/base.cpk
Environment variable ONCONFIG was set to 'XXX'.
ERROR: Database server 'XXX' is Off-Line


- Run %onstat command to check Informix database server status-
%onstat -

Got error:
shared memory not initialized for INFORMIXSERVER 'XXX'
