Cannot connect to Rational Synergy from Rational Application Developer using the Rational Synergy for Eclipse Interface 7.2.0.2

Troubleshooting


Problem

An attempt to create a connection from Rational Application Developer 8.5.1 or Eclipse fails. However, starting the Rational Synergy client from the same system using the same connection data succeeds. The errors shown in the RAD/Eclipse console are as follows: Cannot retrieve information from database. Password is blank or Cannot retrieve information from database. Check if the service is loaded.

Symptom

Besides the error in the Rational Application Developer/Eclipse console, the .log file found in the Eclipse workspace .metadata folder contains the following URE:
