Question & Answer
Question
Can the move to in-basket button be removed from the Content Navigator step processor?
Answer
There is no configuration setting in Content Navigator to remove this button. The step processor may be customized to do this.
Another option to prevent users from moving a work item to an in-basket that does not involve customization is to restrict the security on the work queue associated with the in-basket. You can do that via Process Configuration Console by giving the users "Query" access which is read access to the work queue. That will prevent the work items from being re-assigned behind the scene (which is what the 'Move to in Basket' button is actually doing) because the user does not have "Process" privilege to do it.
By default, there is no permission/security assigned to the work queue. Once you start restricting security on the work queue, you must, then, start to plan out as to which users and groups you want to assign
"Query" or both "Query" and "Process" access to the work queue.
