Boolean Property Value is not shown in properties

Troubleshooting


Problem

When the boolean property Default Value is set to True or False the value is not seen when adding a document in Workplace or FileNet Workplace XT.

Symptom

  1. Add a Boolean Property in IBM FileNet Enterprise Manager

  2. After the Property is created go to Property Templates

  3. Right click on the Boolean Property

  4. Click on Properties

  5. Click on the More Tab

  6. Choose either True or False ad the Default Value

  7. Restart WPXT and CE Instance

  8. Access WPXT and Add a document

  9. Go to the class the Boolean Property is associated

  10. The Property field is blank and does not contain either the True or False Value

Cause

The Default Value is not set in the Property Definitions of the Class

Diagnosing The Problem

Default Value does not contain a value

Resolving The Problem

  1. Open FEM

  2. Go to the Class that contains the Boolean Property

  3. Right click on the class and choose properties

  4. Click on Property Defintions

  5. Highlight the Boolean Property

  6. Click Edit

  7. Click on the More Tab

  8. Set the Default Value to either True or False

  9. Click Ok

  10. Refresh FEM

  11. Restart CE and AE
