Troubleshooting
Problem
In Framework Manager, deleting a field in a query subject will show a broken link on any other query subject that reference that field; for example, a calculation. When the query subject is updated to a valid reference, the broken link icon still remains. When the model is validated it will give an error.
Symptom
BMT-MD-2007 This object has a status of 'Invalid'. Unable to test the object.
Cause
A query subject is refering to a non existing object within the model and it creates a broken link. Updating the status of the object with the broken reference by pointing it to another item or deleting the reference, does not necessarily validate the object. The object could still be invalid for other reasons. It requires executing the object with the broken reference to validate the status and confirm the reference is no longer broken.
Environment
Database: MS SQL Server
Resolving The Problem
By testing a sample within the Query Subject Definition window, it will revalidate the query subject reference.
Steps:1. Double click in the Query Subject with the broken link. This will open the Query Subject Definition window
2. Go to the Test Tab.
3. Click on Test Sample at the bottom of the tab. This should result in a successful retrieval of sample data.
4. Once it has successfully retrieved data, click the OK button (not Cancel).
The broken link icon should now be gone. Model validation will now be free of this error.
