Blank line in db2dj.ini file can cause DB2 instance to crash instead of issuing an SQL5181 error message

Question & Answer

Question

If there is a blank or incorrect line in the db2dj.ini file, InfoSphere Federation Server usually issues a SQL5181N error message. On Solaris, the DB2 instance sometimes crashes. Installing DB2 Version 8.1.4 will reduce the impact of incorrect specifications and blank lines in the db2dj.ini file. You must still examine the file and correct the problems.
