Bisynchronous (BSC) Communications Fails with Message CPF9872 Reason Code 2

Troubleshooting

Problem

This document provides problem determination assistance for a security error for bisynchronous communications.

Resolving The Problem

Problem:

Bisynchronous (BSC) communications fails with message CPF9872, reason code 2, after changing the system security level to 50.

Resolution:

Security level 50 sets PUBLIC authority to *EXCLUDE. The application files, members, and object must be changed to give specific authority to QUSER or the user ID required by the application.

If the application was provided by an OEM vendor, the vendor should be contacted for additional assistance. In some cases, the OEM application may require a change so that it will run with security level 50.
