BINLOG_FORMAT errors when starting WorkLight Application Center

Troubleshooting


Problem

When starting the IBM Application Center running on MySQL errors regarding BINLOG_FORMAT may occur.

Symptom

The WebSphere system out logs for the WorkLight server will show the following message on startup. Preventing you to access the console and your Maximo Anywhere applications.


Caused by: <openjpa-1.2.2-r422266:898935 nonfatal general error> org.apache.openjpa.persistence.PersistenceException: Cannot execute statement: impossible to write to binary log since BINLOG_FORMAT = STATEMENT and at least one table uses a storage engine limited to row-based logging. InnoDB is limited to row-logging when transaction isolation level is READ COMMITTED or READ UNCOMMITTED.
