Bind of database utilities to DB2 for z/OS results in SQL0562N error message

Troubleshooting


Problem

When binding the database utilities to a DB2 for z/OS database with ddcsmvs.lst, some of the bind files may fail with a SQL0562N error message

Symptom

The following is some sample output showing the error (warning) messages that may result when binding ddcsmvs.lst:

bind @ddcsmvs.lst blocking all sqlerror continue grant public

LINE MESSAGES FOR ddcsmvs.lst

SQL0061W The binder is in progress.

LINE MESSAGES FOR db2ajgrt.bnd
--------------------------------------------------------------------
SQL0562N The specified database privileges cannot be granted
to PUBLIC. SQLSTATE=01560

SQL0562N The specified database privileges cannot be granted
