How To
Summary
This article explains how to use column names with “Date Partition” when uploading data across multiple financial years using different upload files into the FY periods.
Steps
If a customer uploads cost data for multiple financial years using separate files to be uploaded into the FY periods and includes the year in each column name, the system cannot recognize the columns for a given year when a different fiscal year is selected in the Date Range. Consequently, the Amount values appear blank after applying a date partition for one year and then choosing another year.
For example, suppose data is uploaded for FY2025 and FY2026 with the following column names:
FY2025 columns: P1 FY2025, P2 FY2025, …, P12 FY2025
FY2026 columns: P1 FY2026, P2 FY2026, …, P12 FY2026

When you apply a date partition for FY2025 and enable “Dates are represented in columns” with the default setting (P1 FY2025, P2 FY2025, …), the Amount column correctly displays the FY2025 values. However, if you switch to FY2026, the Amount column becomes blank even though the P1 FY2026, P2 FY2026, …, P12 FY2026 columns contain data.

This behavior is intentional, as confirmed by our Engineering team. When a date partition is applied for FY2025, the system cannot recognize the FY2026 columns because the year suffix creates a separate set of column names and system is unable to recognize them.
To display the Amount values correctly, remove the year from the column names. Use the same column headings for each fiscal year, for example:
FY2025 columns: P1, P2, …, P12
FY2026 columns: P1, P2, …, P12
Without the year suffix, the system automatically matches the data to the selected year in the “Date Range.”
