Abstract
iOS 14 gives users the choice to grant either approximate or precise location permission to an application on the device. Precise location permission to MaaS360 application helps in getting the exact coordinates of the device location otherwise it can determine the approximate location. This new change can impact some important Admin configured location-based features such as location tracking and region monitoring.

Precise turned on
When the precise location is turned on, MaaS360 gets the exact coordinates of the location.
Precise turned off
Behavior changes
When the precise location is turned off, MaaS360 can only determine the approximate location and it can impact the behavior of location tracking and region monitoring.
Location Tracking
Reduced accuracy gives an approximate location to the MaaS360 app, which can be any point within a 5 Kilometer radius and the location is recomputed only 4 times an hour. As a result, administrators cannot get the exact location of the device.
Region Monitoring
With the high-level regional location data, MaaS360 cannot track the checked-in and checked-out status of the device. As a result, the region monitoring policies might not work.
Changes in MaaS360 agent
MaaS360 requires a precise location to recognize the device's entry into a preconfigured location, detect unsafe networks, and apply security policies as mandated by administrators. When the location service or Precise Location is turned off, MaaS360 displays the red exclamation badge over the MaaS360 Settings icon > Locations page, indicating a pending action item.
