Problem

In MegaRAID Storage Manager (v2.32) starting the battery learn cycle will generate an error code = 0x32. The user is not presented with a valid reason why the battery learn cycle did not complete successfully, for example, bad battery, battery too warm,etc.

Symptom

In MegaRAID Storage Manager (v2.32) starting the battery learn cycle will generate an error code = 0x32.

The user is not presented with a valid reason why the battery learn cycle did not complete successfully, e.g. bad battery, battery too warm, etc.

Affected configurations

The system may be any of the following IBM servers:

  • System x3850 M2, type 7141, any model

The system is configured with one or more of the following IBM Options:

  • ServeRAID-MR10k SAS/SATA Controller, Option part number 43W4280

The system is configured with at least one of the following:

  • MegaRAID Storage Manager, 2.32

Note: This does not imply that the network operating system will work under all combinations of hardware and software.

Solution

This behavior will be corrected in a future release.

The Target date for this release is scheduled for Second Quarter 2008.
