'Backup VM' fails with ANS2375E when VMware tagging is enabled

Troubleshooting

Problem

Any DataMover operation (e.g. 'backup VM') fails with vCloud Suite plug-in library issues when VMware tagging is enabled.

Symptom

When IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments - Data Protection for VMware is configured to use VMware tagging (with the option "VMTAGDATAMOVER YES" set in the respective Data Mover node's dsm.opt file), any operation that requires communication between the Data Mover and the VMware Platform Service Controller (PSC) can fail. The example below shows the failure with 'backup vm'.

Protect> backup vm 'vmname'
Full BACKUP VM of virtual machines 'vmname'.

ANS2375E The VMware vCloud Suite plug-in library failed to connect to the vCenter Management Server because the instance name could not be found.
ANS1081E Invalid search file specification 'vmname' entered.
