AWSDEK404E error encountered running dumpsec

Troubleshooting


Problem

An error DUMPSEC:AWSDEK404E Unable to open utf8 temporary file dumpsec.utf8 is encountered while attempting to run the dumpsec utility to view the contents of the IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler Security file.

Cause

The dumpsec utility attempts to create a temporary file dumpsec.utf8 in the current directory when invoked. The following output is encountered when the TWSuser does not have the necessary permission's to create this temporary file in the current directory:


$ dumpsec

Resolving The Problem

Ensure that when running dumpsec, you are in a directory which the TWSuser has the necessary permission's to create and write to a file, such as the TWShome directory or /tmp.
