The Authorize User panel, lists the Service Provider IDs that have been previously entered.
In the past, IBM IDs were not required to have the format of an email address. As a result, it is possible for an upgraded HMC to still contain Service Provider IDs in a non email-format. When attempting to perform actions on the Authorize User panel (e.g. adding or removing IDs), a check is performed against the IDs to verify they conform to email format and will display an error when it encounters these now invalid entries.
The error displayed contains the following text (where "xxxxxxx" represents the ID being acted upon):
An invalid attribute value was entered. The attribute pair with the invalid value is "xxxxxxx". Please correct the configuration data and retry the command.
The user will be unable to add or remove Service Provider IDs via the Authorize User panel.
When attempting to add or remove a Service Provider ID via the Authorize User panel, the following error is displayed (where "xxxxxxx" represents the ID being acted upon):
An invalid attribute value was entered. The attribute pair with the invalid value is "xxxxxxx". Please correct the configuration data and retry the command.
The problem is caused by having upgraded the HMC from a version where the user operated it via the Classic UI, to a new version where the user operates the HMC via the Enhanced UI. The IDs are stored in persisted data.
In the Enhanced UI, the panel enforces that IDs conform to the format of email addresses. The persisted data from the version prior to the upgrade, contains the incorrectly formatted (deprecated) IDs.
Visual inspection of the list of Service Provider IDs will show entries that do not conform to the format of an email address.
Removing the deprecated IDs via the Authorized User panel is not possible.
All IDs must be removed by removing the persisted data.
Please contact IBM Support for assistance with the necessary user level access and procedure to perform the operation.
