Problem
This technote explains how to resolve an error,[]cleartool: Error: Invalid UNC name[] that can occur when using IBM Rational ClearCase (CC) and attempting to create new views.
Symptom
Some users can not create new views from a particular machine.
The below error occurs from the client when attempting to create a new view:
Invalid UNC name - <no-gpath>
Other errors are:
cleartool: Error: Invalid UNC name - <no-gpath>
cleartool: Error: View tag "tagname": Filename too long
Removing the view ...
cleartool: Error: Invalid UNC name - <no-gpath>
Note: This issue was from a customer using interop and the above error was from a windows client.
