Transactional Execution Disablement and Use Discovery
    -----------------------------------------------------

Transactional execution disablement and use discovery
introduces a new command, SET FACILITY, and a new
    system configuration statement, SYSTEM_FACILITY, to
control transactional-execution behavior for z/VM virtual
machines. Another new command, QUERY FACILITY, can
display the underlying machine and configured facility
settings. Monitor records report facility alteration
settings and a virtual machine's first use of facilities
    that is detected.

A LOGOFF delay may prevent SSI LOGOFF notification
    --------------------------------------------------

In some situations, SSI LOGOFF notification may not be
broadcast in a timely manner, allowing the underlying data
to be changed so that when the notification is sent, the
affected user cannot be identified. Thus, the user may
appear to some members of the SSI cluster to be logged on
while appearing not logged on to others.

Defects in SCSI alternate device support
    ----------------------------------------

Duplicate alternate device definitions were not always
    detected.

FOR command causes CNF001 Soft ABEND
    ------------------------------------

In some circumstances issuing a FOR command may result in
a CNF001 soft abend. In other cases the response to a FOR
command may not be delivered (e.g., through the *ASYNCH
    IUCV Systems Service) as expected.

PRG004 if invalid buffer length provided to Diagnose 26C
    --------------------------------------------------------

An invalid buffer length may cause a PRG004 ABEND in
Diagnose X'26C' (Access Certain System Information).

Problem conclusion

  • Transactional Execution Disablement and Use Discovery
    -----------------------------------------------------

This new function can be exploited to detect applications that
    use the Transactional Execution Facility.

A LOGOFF delay may prevent SSI LOGOFF notification
    --------------------------------------------------

Code has been changed to ensure that notifications are sent
    correctly.

Defects in SCSI alternate device support
    ----------------------------------------

Duplicate alternate device definition checking has been improved
to ensure that duplicates are detected and reported correctly.

FOR command causes CNF001 Soft ABEND
    ------------------------------------

Command response handling has been corrected to ensure that FOR
command responses are delivered as expected.

PRG004 if invalid buffer length provided to Diagnose 26C
    --------------------------------------------------------

Code has been changed to validate the Diagnose 26C buffer
    length.
