Error description
There is the need to add Adapter Interrupt support to VM's SCSI Thin Stack. This SCSI device driver is used at IPL, Dump, and Shutdown when SCSI disk volumes are used. It is also used by the SCSIDISC application in a CMS environment. This is foundational support for future hardware.

Comments
Adapter interruption handling support was added to HCPBOT, HCPRXS, HCPDIO, HCPBOU, HCPDMP, HCPGLP, HCPSAL, HCPCKS modules, the FCPSCSI macro, and the SCSIDISC EXEC. The SALIPL command and SAPL program loader have been updated as a consequence. The SALIPL command should be rerun from CMS against all z/VM IPLable FCP SCSI devices to ensure the updated loader (SAPL) is installed. To use the updated SCSIDISC, both SCSIDISC EXEC and RXSCSIFN MODULE must be installed in CMS. The following documentation changes have been made. SC24-6268-73 z/VM: CP Commands and Utilities Reference SCSIDISC CP Utility The following options were added to the SCSIDISC CP Utility. ERRORS displays the same level of information as the INFO option, with the addition of information displayed by the DEBUG option when a WWPN/LUN produces an error. DIAG displays diagnostic output that includes the level of information displayed by the DEBUG option, as well as a trace of SCSI function calls. Results of this option are not documented and are subject to change. NOLOG suppresses disk output. NOLOG is an alternative to the OUTFN and OUTFM file specifications. This option is mutually exclusive with OUTFN, OUTFM, and NOTERM. NOTERM suppresses terminal log output. NOTERM can be specified with OUTFN and OUTFM. This option is mutually exclusive with NOLOG. The following note was also added to the OUTFN and OUTFM operands: This option is mutually exclusive with NOLOG. Usage Notes 4 and 5 were also added. 4.The INFO, ERRORS, DEBUG, and DIAG options are all mutually exclusive. INFO is the default. More than one of these options can be specified, but only the most verbose takes priority. The order of increasing verbosity is: INFO, ERRORS, DEBUG, DIAG. 5.Given the potential for producing large volumes of console data, using SCSIDISC with CMS pipelines is not recommended. Output from SCSIDISC is captured on disk in the LOG and OUT files, which can be used as input to customize for further analysis. If console output suppression is desired, use the NOTERM option (rather than PIPE COMMAND EXEC SCSIDISC with no follow-on stage). GC24-6270-73 z/VM: CP Messages and Codes HCP974E The following variations of HCP974E was added. - Variation 10 'NOLOG' cannot be specified with NOTERM Explanation: This message is issued when the NOLOG option follows a previously-specified NOTERM option. System action: Command processing terminates. User response: Specify NOLOG or NOTERM and issue the request again. - Variation 11 'NOTERM' cannot be specified with NOLOG Explanation: This message is issued when the NOTERM option follows a previously-specified NOLOG option. System action: Command processing terminates. User response: Specify NOLOG or NOTERM and issue the request again. ×**** AE24/03/25 FIX IN ERROR. SEE APAR VM66763 FOR DESCRIPTION
