VM65681: MST DUMPS FROM VM Z/OS GUEST NOT WORKING

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• MST dumps from a z/OS guest are not working.
  This looks like there is a h/w issue in that
  a certain bit is not set to indicate support.
  z/OS doesn't check the bit, hence it works
  natively.  z/VM simulation checks the bit,
  hence this doesn't work on z/VM.  So zVM
  will change to be like zOS in that if PCIe
  support is there, a MST Dump is there.

  zOS can not successfully use MSTDump command
  while running on zVM. There are several
  simulation logic problems in zVM.
  

Problem conclusion

• Fixed several PCIe simulation logics in zVM.
  Now MSTDump works for zOS running on zVM.
