SE74018: RDI 9.6.0.8 EDITING SQLRPGLE SOURCE THE PARSER MAY REPORT AN ERROR FOR "END" USED IN CASE CLAUSE IN SQL STATEMENT

Error description

• Editing ILE RPG source with embedded SQL the Remote Systems LPEX
  Editor in Rational Developer for i (RDI) 9.6.0.8 may incorrectly
  report parser errors (Unexpected END encountered) in a valid SQL
  statement.
  
  The problem occurs when the source has a SQL statement which
  contains a CASE (ABC) WHEN ... END clause where the term
  following the CASE is enclosed in round brackets. This example
  has the term (ABC) in brackets, which leads to the incorrect
  parse error.
  

Local fix

• If possible, remove the brackets around the term following the
  CASE.
